Bridgnorth Rowing Club held two events over the Christmas period.
The first being a boat naming ceremony for a new racing boat that the cub has recently had delivered.
The coxed four has been jointly funded by three kind benefactors , local major employer, Bridgnorth Aluminium have once again shown their support to local sport, also a new name to the town, Joules Brewery who have taken over the Shakespeare in west castle street, and finally club stalwart Mr David Walker.
The club decided to name the new boat “David Walker” in respect for all the work Dave has put into the rowing club over the past forty years he has been involved.
A good crowd gathered, including the sponsors to watch Dave pour some “bubbly” over the bows of the boat as is tradition.
Yet another good turn out was had on Christmas eve morning, down on the Severn when three eights of oarsmen and women dressed in Christmas attire took to the water in a five mile festive row to Gadstone and back.
